Nigerian Journal of Engineering (NJE) with ISSN (print): 0794 – 4756 and online: 2705-3954 is a publication of the Faculty of Engineering, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria – Nigeria. NJE publishes original articles from all fields of Engineering and related applied sciences. The journal receives and processes articles for publication at all times, however publishes three issues annually (online and print); April, August and December. The most recent published issue of the Journal is volume 27, number 2 (August, 2020). NJE uses a double-blind review system for manuscripts received.

Aim and Scope

The aim of the journal is to disseminate original, scientific, theoretical or applied research in the interdisciplinary streams of Engineering with the view of bridging the gap between research and practice. It seeks to promote publication of research works based on theoretical or experimental findings in the areas of:-

  • Agricultural and Bio-Resources Engineering,

  • Chemical & Petroleum Engineering,

  • Civil Engineering,

  • Computer Engineering,

  • Electrical Engineering,

  • Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering

  • Mechanical Engineering,

  • Mechanical, Automotive & Mechatronics Engineering,

  • Metallurgical & Materials Engineering,

  • Polymer and Textile Engineering,

  • Water Resources & Environmental Engineering.

It is our immense pleasure to invite you to submit your manuscript from the aforementioned areas for possible publication in the next edition of NJE.

Submission Guidelines

Contributors should prepare their manuscript according to the Instructions for Authors available on: http://www.njeabu.com.ng/index.php?sec=gfa. Authors’ identities and affiliations should be removed from the manuscript to allow double-blind review. Submit the manuscript via Submit Article pane on our website. Authors can tract the progress of their article via the same page.

Plagiarism Policy

By submitting the manuscript, it implies that it is original and unpublished manuscript and is not submitted elsewhere for publication. Plagiarism, including duplication of the author's own or someone else’s work, in whole or in part without proper citation is not acceptable by NJE as it violates copyright law. As such manuscripts submitted to NJE will be checked for originality using anti-plagiarism software; ithenticate or turnitin. Manuscripts with similarity index of more than 20% will be returned to the authors for revision, while those with more than 50% will be rejected right away.

Processing and Publication Charges

After the submission, a manuscript number will be assigned and author(s) will be required to pay a processing fee of NGN 5,000 (Five thousand naira only). Authors of accepted manuscripts will be required to pay NGN 20,000 (Twenty thousand naira only) as publication fee. The processing and publication fees for accepted manuscripts should be paid to NJE account:-

  • Bank: - United Bank for Africa (UBA)

  • Account Number: - 1005216708

  • Account name: - Nigerian Journal of Engineering.

Evidence of payments should be forwarded as an attachment to the NJE e-mail address.


After the double-blind review and post-review assessments, the manuscript will either be accepted or rejected. The accepted manuscripts will be published online and print subsequently. Corresponding authors of each paper is entitled to a copy of the printed journal. Additional copy can be purchased at the cost of NGN2,000 (Two thousand naira only).
